About This Job

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the country's central bank, has announced a contractual opening for a Sr. IT Assets Management Specialist within its IT Operations Department (ITOD), based at the Bank's Karachi office. The position is a single-post hiring aimed at strengthening SBP's technology procurement and asset-management function, covering everything from IT budgeting and vendor sourcing to inventory control and contract administration for hardware, software, and related services used across the central bank and its subsidiaries. The role also carries responsibility for maintaining accurate asset registers, coordinating with Finance, Legal, Risk and Audit on procurement matters, and supporting internal and external audits and regulatory reviews. Given SBP's expanding reliance on digital infrastructure for monetary policy, payment systems, and regulatory operations, this role plays a supporting but important part in keeping that technology backbone properly governed, audited, and cost-efficient.

Applicants are expected to hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree representing sixteen years of education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics from an HEC-recognized university, whether in Pakistan or abroad. On the experience side, the Bank is looking for at least five years of overall professional exposure to public procurement, ideally with a specific focus on IT asset management and management of contracts and service-level agreements. Candidates who have worked in the banking or broader financial services sector, or who bring familiarity with PPRA procurement rules, Oracle ERP and EPADS systems, and general governance and risk-management frameworks, will have an edge over other applicants, since these are explicitly listed as preferred skills in the advertisement. The upper age limit for this post is 38 years, calculated as of the date the advertisement was issued. SBP does not specify a domicile restriction for the role and positions itself as an equal-opportunity employer, actively welcoming applications from women, members of minority communities, transgender persons, and persons with disabilities, in keeping with its stated diversity commitments.

Candidates who meet the above criteria can apply by submitting their application online through the Bank's dedicated recruitment portal at career.sbp.org.pk, with the last date for submission set at October 12, 2026. No application fee has been mentioned for this online process, but applicants should ensure their submissions fully match the eligibility criteria laid out in the advertisement, since incomplete or non-conforming applications will not be entertained and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further stages. The Bank also warns that any candidate who misrepresents information, tries to influence the recruitment process, or tampers with age or educational documents will be disqualified from this and any future SBP recruitment drive. In return, SBP is offering a competitive, market-based compensation package along with a well-rounded benefits structure in line with the Bank's own HR policies. IT professionals with a background in procurement and asset management who meet the qualification and experience criteria are encouraged to apply well before the window closes.
