The Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh, has advertised four posts of Data Processing Assistant (BPS-12) through the Sindh Job Portal, split two rural and two urban, all open on merit. The role centres on record processing for the Department: entering departmental data into system databases with a high degree of precision, converting physical files, transcripts and official registers into standardised digital formats, and maintaining real-time logs of budgets and other departmental records, effectively digitising a chunk of the Department's paper-based administrative history as it moves toward more computerised record-keeping. Given how much of a sports department's paperwork touches budgets, grants, facility bookings and youth-programme enrollment, having accurate, searchable digital records matters more here than in a purely paper-based office.
Eligible candidates can qualify through either of two routes: a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, representing sixteen years of education, with a minimum second division or equivalent CGPA from an HEC-recognized university; or a general graduation with at least a second division combined with a Diploma in Computer Science or IT from an institute recognized by the Sindh Board of Technical Education or the Government. The age bracket is 21 to 28 years, with the standard five-year relaxation available under Government of Sindh policy. Selection again runs through the IBA Sukkur Testing Services (STS) Graduation Certificate test, and candidates must score at least 40 to remain in contention for one of the four open-merit seats, which are split evenly between the rural and urban allocations rather than weighted toward one or the other.
Applications are submitted entirely online through the Sindh Job Portal. Interested candidates should register or sign in at sjp.gos.pk, open this specific listing, and click Apply For This Job - SJP does not charge any fee for applying, and explicitly states that anyone demanding payment on its behalf has no connection to the portal. Only candidates who clear the STS test will be called forward for interview, with no TA/DA payable, and roll-number slips and scheduling information are communicated purely through the candidate's own SJP account. The closing date for this listing is 2 October 2026, shared with the Junior Clerk vacancies advertised by the same Department, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply for both listings separately if they meet each post's own distinct eligibility criteria, since sharing a closing date does not mean a single application covers both posts on the portal's system.
