The University of Balochistan, Quetta, a premier public-sector institution of higher learning, has invited applications for the key administrative post of Controller of Examinations on a contract basis for a non-extendable period of four years. The Office of the Controller of Examinations plays a vital academic and administrative role at the University, overseeing the planning, coordination, conduct, and administration of examinations, along with the maintenance of academic records and the timely declaration of results. This BPS-20 position is open to candidates from all over Pakistan, reflecting the University's intent to attract accomplished and visionary professionals to strengthen its examination system and modernize how the institution runs its testing and result-management operations.

Eligible candidates must hold an MS, M.Phil., or an equivalent 18-year qualification with at least a Second Division from an HEC-recognized institution, and must be under 55 years of age at the time of application. On the experience side, the University is looking for either 17 years of post-qualification teaching or administrative experience in a university, degree-awarding institution, examination board, or similar organization at BPS-17 or above, or alternatively 5 years of experience at BPS-19 or above with demonstrated responsibility for examination or senior academic administration. In either case, applicants must additionally show at least 5 years of hands-on experience managing examinations or declaring results for at least 10,000 candidates, duly supported by documentary evidence, with all experience counted from the date the prescribed qualification was acquired. Candidates already serving in government or public-sector organizations must apply through the proper channel with a No Objection Certificate, and a Ph.D. along with prior experience as Controller or Deputy Controller of Examinations, Director or Head of Examinations, or exposure to digitized and automated examination systems, online result management, and examination-policy reforms, will be preferred over other applicants.

Complete applications, along with all supporting documents and experience certificates that duly reflect the experience mentioned in the CV, must reach the Establishment Section (Room No. 35) of the University either in person or by post before the closing date of 15th October 2026; incomplete applications, late submissions, or those without the processing fee will not be entertained. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and interview at the University of Balochistan, Quetta, with no TA/DA admissible, and canvassing in any form or manner will render a candidate liable to disqualification from the process.

Qualification Required

• Qualification: MS/M.Phil./18 years of education or equivalent qualification, with at least Second Division, from a university/institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
• Experience: At least 17 years of post-qualification teaching/administrative experience in a university, degree-awarding institution, examination board, government department, autonomous body, or other reputable educational organization, including experience in a post equivalent to BPS-17 or above, with substantial exposure to academic administration, examination management, or related institutional affairs; OR at least 05 years of post-qualification experience in a post equivalent to BPS-19 or above, with demonstrated responsibility for examination, academic, or senior administrative matters. In either case, the candidate must also have at least 05 years' experience in handling examination affairs in a reputable university, examination board, or educational institution, including responsibility for the conduct and management of examinations and/or compilation and declaration of results involving at least 10,000 candidates.

Eligibility Note

A Ph.D or other higher relevant qualification is preferred. Preference is also given to candidates who have served as Controller of Examinations, Deputy Controller of Examinations, Director/Head of Examinations, or in an equivalent senior examination/academic administration position, and to candidates with demonstrated experience in digitization and automation of examination systems, online examination and result management, examination reforms, quality assurance, and development/implementation of examination policies and regulations.
