The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) has advertised three vacancies for Assistant Director (Security Operations Center)/L2 Analyst through the Punjab Job Portal, forming part of an eight-post Information Security batch hiring drive. Applicants must have a minimum of 16 years of education (Master's or Bachelor's Honours) in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a Cyber Security discipline from an HEC-recognized university, together with at least three years of post-qualification experience in information/cyber security specifically in a Security Operations Center role - the advertisement explicitly states that Network Operations Center (NOC) experience will not be counted as equivalent - including a minimum of two years working as an L1 or L2 SOC analyst. A relevant certification such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CSA, CHFI or a recognized SIEM-platform credential (Splunk, LogRhythm, QRadar) is preferred. Core duties include monitoring and responding to escalated security events across SIEM, EDR, firewall and IDS/IPS platforms, running deep-dive investigations using log data and endpoint telemetry, and refining SIEM correlation rules and alert thresholds to cut down false positives. The analyst will also maintain and improve incident-response playbooks, carry out proactive threat hunting using MITRE ATT&CK-based hypotheses, support purple-team exercises, and mentor L1 analysts in triage and investigation technique. Validating log data from a wide range of sources - including Windows and Linux servers, applications, firewalls and cloud platforms - to ensure complete and accurate security monitoring is also part of the role, alongside close collaboration with PLRA's Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management and Security Engineering functions to contextualize emerging threats.
