The Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, is hiring eight Associate Professors of Education in BS-20 as part of a fresh recruitment drive for its teaching faculty, advertised on 14 September 2026. IER trains generations of teacher-educators and researchers for Pakistan's school and higher-education systems, and the Associate Professor rank is a senior academic position combining classroom teaching, research supervision and departmental responsibilities within one of the country's leading education faculties.

Eligible candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Education from an HEC-recognized university or institution. On experience, the university will accept either ten years of teaching or research experience at an HEC-recognized university or postgraduate institution (or equivalent professional experience nationally or internationally), or five years of post-Ph.D. teaching or research experience in a similar setting. A minimum of ten research publications in HEC-recognized journals is required, at least four of which must fall within the last five years; only publications in HEC-recognized (HJRS-enlisted, or at least Y-category) journals published before the closing date will be counted toward this requirement. As with all IER teaching posts, HEC's minimum eligibility conditions for the rank will be strictly applied, and foreign degrees are accepted only once equivalence has been certified by the Higher Education Commission.

Candidates should apply online through jobs.pu.edu.pk and also submit two signed hard copies of the completed application form, together with an updated CV, attested degrees and testimonials, and the first page of each listed publication, to the Director's Office at IER, University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, by registered post — applications delivered by hand will not be accepted. Applicants for this rank must also carry a soft copy of their application and full research papers on a USB drive. A processing fee of Rs. 500 is payable by every applicant, with an additional Rs. 6,000 required from Professor and Associate Professor candidates through the prescribed bank challan or pay order; government servants must attach a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC. Fresh appointees will fall under the Punjab Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025, while existing BPS employees applying through proper channel keep the old pension rules. The window for submission closes on 30 November 2026, with the online portal shutting at 4:00 pm sharp on that date, so interested applicants are encouraged to complete both the online and hard-copy requirements well in advance. As with all IER posts, results not officially announced by a Board or University's Controller of Examinations before the closing date will not be considered, and candidates bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the information submitted in their application.
