The Institute of Education and Research (IER) at the University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, is recruiting six Assistant Professors of Education in BS-19, as advertised on 14 September 2026. This is a fresh, full-time faculty appointment within one of Pakistan's leading institutes for teacher education, covering undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, curriculum development and academic supervision in the education discipline, alongside the Institute's other advertised Professor, Associate Professor and Lecturer posts.

The advertised eligibility criterion for this rank is a Ph.D. in Education from an HEC-recognized university or institution; no minimum years of prior teaching, research experience or publication record has been prescribed for the Assistant Professor post in this advertisement, unlike the higher Professor and Associate Professor ranks. All appointments remain subject to HEC's overall minimum eligibility framework for university faculty, only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview at this grade, and any foreign academic qualification will only be accepted once its equivalence has been certified by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Every application must be accompanied by the standard Rs. 500 processing fee, and Assistant Professor/Lecturer applicants are additionally required to deposit Rs. 3,000 through the prescribed bank challan or a pay order in favour of the Director, IER, with the original deposit receipt attached to the hard copy. Government servants must produce a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC from their current employer before applying. Successful new appointees will be engaged under the Punjab Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025. All application requirements — both online and hard-copy — must be completed by the closing date of 30 November 2026, after which the online portal will close permanently at 4:00 pm and no further submissions will be accepted under any circumstance. Candidates should also be aware that results not officially announced by the relevant Board or University before the closing date will not be considered, and the onus of ensuring correct and complete information in the application rests entirely with the applicant. The Institute also reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of advertised posts, or to withhold or withdraw any appointment, without assigning any reason, and all instructions issued by the Higher Education Commission or the University from time to time will be followed in letter and spirit throughout the selection process.
