The Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, is advertising one general post of Lecturer in Education, BS-18, alongside its other specialised Lecturer vacancies in Business Education, Technology Education and English Language Teaching & Linguistics, all announced on 14 September 2026. This role supports the core Education discipline taught across IER's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, one of the largest and oldest teacher-education faculties in the country.

The prescribed qualification for this post is a first-class MS, MPhil, or an equivalent 18-year degree in Education (or a closely relevant field) from an HEC-recognized university or institution, with no third division anywhere in the candidate's academic career. All Lecturer appointments at IER are made in line with HEC's minimum eligibility conditions for the grade, only shortlisted applicants will be called for interview with no TA/DA payable, and any foreign qualification will be accepted only after the Higher Education Commission has certified its equivalence to the required Pakistani degree.

Candidates must apply online through jobs.pu.edu.pk and also submit two signed hard copies of the application form, an updated CV and attested copies of degrees and testimonials to the Office of the Director, IER, University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore, by registered post; applications received by hand will not be considered under any circumstance. Every applicant is required to pay the standard Rs. 500 processing fee, plus a further Rs. 3,000 for Assistant Professor/Lecturer posts, deposited via the prescribed bank challan or a pay order in favour of the Director, IER, with government servants attaching a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC. Selected candidates will be appointed under the Punjab Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025. All applications, both online and postal, must reach IER by the closing date of 30 November 2026, after which the online portal closes permanently at 4:00 pm. Results not officially announced before the closing date will not be considered for this post either, and every applicant remains responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information entered in the online application form. IER also reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of advertised posts, or to withhold or withdraw any appointment, without assigning any reason, and instructions issued by the Higher Education Commission or the University from time to time will be followed in letter and spirit throughout the process. Candidates are also reminded that the age, qualification, experience and other credentials required for the post must be fully met on or before the closing date, and any information later found to be incorrect or false will result in disqualification and action under the applicable rules.
