The role sits at the top of the Bank's legal function and is responsible for identifying and managing legal risk across the organization, from corporate contracts and service-law matters to litigation strategy, making it a senior appointment central to ZTBL's regulatory and legal compliance framework as it continues to modernize its operations across the country. Beyond litigation and contract oversight, the incumbent is also expected to stay abreast of superior-court judgments and evolving banking legislation, feeding that analysis back into ZTBL's internal policies so the Bank's legal position keeps pace with the wider regulatory environment.

The Bank is looking for a candidate with a minimum LLB degree from an HEC-recognized institute or university, whether obtained in Pakistan or abroad, combined with at least ten years of relevant legal experience. Given the seniority of the post, the successful candidate will be expected to oversee everything from drafting and negotiating corporate and vendor contracts to coordinating ZTBL's 31 Legal Litigation Units spread across the country, maintaining an updated compendium of banking laws for internal reference, and keeping the Bank's legal compliance aligned with SBP and SECP guidelines. The maximum age limit for this VP-I/VP grade position is 50 years as on the closing date. Key Responsibilities

Identification and assessment of legal risks and development of strategies to mitigate risk through legal recourse; ensure preparation of all legal documentation and its execution as per bank requirements; analyze superior court decisions (in general and pertaining to ZTBL) and recommend policy changes to management; ensure implementation of prudential regulations and other SBP/SECP guidelines; oversee service law matters including service agreements, employment-related contracts, NIRC matters, legal compliance and grievance handling; review, draft and negotiate corporate and service-related contracts (vendors, partners, clients, service-level agreements, MoUs); coordinate with 31 Legal Litigation Units (LLUs) across the country; pursue countrywide litigation in statutory, corporate, business, tax and service matters; maintain an updated compendium of Banking Laws for stakeholder reference; keep track of the latest banking-sector legislation and court judgments; lead the legal team with strong interpretation and drafting skills.
