The Indus River System Authority (IRSA), an autonomous body established under Act No. XXII of 1992 to manage the distribution of Indus waters between the provinces, has opened 17 posts of Sub-Engineer (Electronics/Electrical) through the National Testing Service (NTS). This is the largest batch in the advertisement and all posts belong to IRSA's Telemetry Project, "Installation of Telemetry System for Real Time Discharge Monitoring at 27 Key Sites on Indus Basin Irrigation System (IBIS)". WAPDA is implementing the project as executing agency, and staff recruited under this advertisement will be attached with WAPDA during execution, the one-year defect liability period, and WAPDA's following two-year maintenance period for training. The pay is Standard Pay Package PPS-05, or Rs. 70,000 per month. Postings and transfers for this post can be made anywhere at the project sites in Pakistan, so applicants should be ready to work in the field at barrages and key river sites.

The minimum qualification is a DAE in Electrical or Electronics from a recognised institution, along with at least five years of hands-on experience in SCADA, telemetry or electrical control systems covering installation, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance. A higher degree will be an advantage. The upper age limit is 30 years, with relaxation under Federal Government rules, and candidates whose minimum academic qualification is below second division will not be considered. Selected Sub-Engineers will assist the Assistant Director (Monitoring) in field operations to resolve faults and keep the system running, and will pass collected data to the processing section after preliminary computation and analysis. Appointments are on open merit as project employees, first for one year and then extendable on a satisfactory performance evaluation and project needs, with an annual increment of 5%. Anyone already serving in a government, semi-government or autonomous body must apply through proper channel with a departmental NOC.

Remuneration Note

Remuneration shall be admissible as per Standard Pay Package for the Project Staff as mentioned against each post as per Finance Division (Regulation Wing) O.M. No. F.NO. 4(9)R-14/2008 dated 18th April, 2022 revised from time to time. Increment @ 5% shall be admissible annually.
